Proposed public library service strategy - Libraries for Derbyshire
Derbyshire County Council has launched a 12 week public consultation for their proposed public library service strategy Libraries for Derbyshire. You can complete their consultation questionnaire at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/librariesforderbyshire
As part of the consultation they have organised drop in sessions across all 45 libraries in Derbyshire for people to meet with them and to discuss their proposals in person. In addition, in the 20 communities proposed for community managed libraries they have arranged focus groups for anyone interested in getting involved to give their views, discuss any practicalities and challenges and decide if they want to take their interest further.
They are also holding a Mobile Library Service focus group to look at alternative methods of delivery for the Mobile Library Service. For example, community organisations running the mobile library service or possibly providing transport to the nearest static library for those that need it.
The Mobile Library Service focus group is on Wednesday 11th July 6-8pm at Members Room, County Hall Matlock.
Residents are invited to engage with this process.
