1939-1945 & 2019-2025 REMEMBRANCE

In September 1939, the beginning of WWII started and this year is the 80th Anniversary.  The United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will remember the men and women who not only fell in WWII, but all who have Fallen in All Combats.  The Royal British Legion (RBL) theme for 2019 is Remember Together, remembering all those who not only served but those who aided Britain in defending its freedoms, values and way of life.

If you would like to support Remembrance with your own Lamp Post Poppy whether to put on your fence or in your garden these can be obtained from myself as your local Poppy Appeal Organiser.  The suggested donation Is £3 per poppy with Cheques made out to RBL Poppy Appeal with Ref HAE05 on the back and orders will be taken until the end of June 2019.  I must advise to put a Lamp Post Poppy up on County Council Property (e.g. Lamp Posts) you need permission of DCC (contact me for further details) and these should be taken down after the Remembrance Period.

JUNE 2019 is also the time that Poppy Appeal Organisers have to submit their orders to the Poppy Factory to ensure delivery before November for all their requirements including Wreaths or any other Poppy related items.  If you want a particular Wreath Insert I can order this for you (Service, Regt or Civil such as Lions etc) please just advise me.  Class C Wreaths with a Logo are a suggested donation of £20 or if you wish an individual Centre Personalised I am willing to undertake that on your behalf for a £25 Donation which I design, print, laminate and insert for you with all your donation going to Poppy Appeal, please just contact me to discuss.  If you wish to discuss any other requirements or options with regards Poppy Appeal please do not hesitate to contact me.

I use this opportunity to advise that Saturday 13 July 2019 will be the Annual W5795 Bomber Memorial in Stanley Churchyard followed by the West Hallam Wells Dressing and Scarecrow Trail.  We expect various families of the Bomber Crew including the daughter of the Rear Gunner and it is possible that a sponsor is willing to fund the application for 2020 to apply for a RAF Bomber Memorial Flight Flypast as well as the plans to be explored for the young lady WWII Veteran who undertook the RBL Ride Past in 1995 repeating it in celebration of her 100th Birthday next year.  Planning is in the very early stages.

Please contact Terry Hall PAO HAE05 on 01559 303641 or Email TAZstanley@yahoo.co.uk

Thank you for your continued support.
